Anchorage has great facilities, but is also quite busy. It is especially busy in summer with pick-ups of kayaks and day walkers by water taxis. It is a scheduled water taxi stop.
It is a popular campsite for school groups, especially on Monday to Thursday nights in November and mid-February to April.
The campsite gets good winter sun, has a fireplace, and sinks for hand-washing.

Know before you go
The water supply is usually filtered and safe to drink. Be prepared to boil, treat or filter water if the DOC water filters are not working correctly.
This is a 34-bunk hut located on the Abel Tasman Coast Track in the Motueka area.
Set on the splendid north facing beach, just unveiled in October 2013, Anchorage Hut is genuine high class accommodation, ie, flush toilets, double glazed, filtered water, four separate bedrooms, etc.
Basically so-called backcountry huts don’t come any more luxurious than this.
